Precised notes
John Irving is an author, dyslexia doesn't cramp his style. The Cider House Rules is my favorite novel, read an uncountable number of times.

- Got to a point, when he was up for the screenwriting Oscar for Cider House Rules, that he needed to pee. So he prayed to win so that he could go to the loo backstage... he won (anecdote told at LBJ Library in Austin)
- Listen to: 1. Irving Answers Critics Who Say His Love of Dickens Hurts His Writing, 2. Irving on Overcoming His 'Lack of Talent' Through Rewriting, 3. 'Irving reads from 'The Cider House Rules', 4. Irving reads from 'A Son of the Circus'
